The mysterious origins of the Hendricks Gibson

A Gibson cocktail is a hybrid martini as it is made today.  Instead of olives, cocktail onions were introduced around the 1950s as the garnish. It was popular for a time in the 1960s but disappeared in the 1980s. It is rare for bars to carry these small pickled cocktail onions any longer.
