Donald Karl Ljungblad, 86, of Elk Mountain, Wyoming, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. A distinguished marine mammal specialist and a pioneer in the study of Arctic marine mammals, his life’s work left an indelible mark on the fields of bioacoustics and the conservation of endangered whale species.

Rod Johnson Celebration of Life

We’re gathering to celebrate the life of Rod Johnson—storyteller, character, and all-around original—on Monday, July 13th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Elk Mountain Community Center (formerly the elementary school).

Expect laughter, good company, light refreshments, and at least a few stories that may or may not be entirely accurate or appropriate—just the way Rod would’ve liked it.

In Loving Memory of Michael James Chapman

Michael James Chapman was born on December 30, 1945, and passed away in Laramie, Wyoming, on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026.

Mike Chapman was born in Baker, Montana, 39 miles from his hometown of Ekalaka, Carter County, Montana. Parents Terry (Ted) S. Chapman and G. Gladys (Thompson) Chapman welcomed Mike to the family of Juanita M. Chapman (Blankenship) and Margaret A. Chapman (Osborn) to their home. Later, an adopted sister, Annette R. Chapman (Cline), joined the family.

Vickie Lynne Scott, a lifelong resident of Medicine Bow, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Laramie, Wyoming, on March 12, 1953, to Harold and Pearl Mayfield.

In Loving Memory of Amanda Kaye Dominguez

Amanda Kaye Dominguez, 41, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Julia Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials instead be made to Saint Joseph Children’s Home. Visitation will be Monday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the casket will be open briefly following the service.

Twila Mae (Cloyd) Hawbaker passed away June 22, 2025, at the age of 78 in Rawlins, Wyoming, surrounded by her family after a short battle with health issues.

   Twila was born October 21, 1946, in Hamburg, Iowa to parents Vernon Leroy “Jack” Cloyd and Ruby Mae (Keys) Cloyd.

Ralph Jump went to his Heavenly Father on June 20, 2025, at the age of 81.

Ralph met the love of his life, Robin, when he began helping guide hunts for Saratoga Safari, a business owned by Robin’s uncle. Their bond was immediate, and together they built a life rooted in love, strength, and perseverance. They were blessed with six children—four sons and two daughters—who brought him great joy and pride.
