The University of Wyoming accorded degrees upon the following students from Carbon County at the completion of the 2025 spring semester. The following degrees may be included on this list: BA (Bachelor of Arts); BS (Bachelor of Science); BSB (Bachelor of Science in Business); BSCS (Bachelor of Science in Computer Science); BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing); CERT (Certificate); (Master of Arts); MBA (Master of Business Administration); and MSW (Master of Social Work).

The University of Wyoming’s Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources is expanding its online graduate offerings with the launch of two new fully online certificates: one in environment and natural resources law and policy, and another in collaborative practice.

University of Wyoming Spring Semester Provost’s Honor Roll: Carbon County

The University of Wyoming lists three students from Carbon County on the 2025 spring semester Provost’s Honor Roll. The Provost’s Honor Roll consists of undergraduates who have completed at least six but fewer than 12 hours with a minimum 3.5 grade-point average for the semester. University of Wyoming Spring Semester Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Rolls: Carbon County

The University of Wyoming lists 31 students from Carbon County on the 2025 spring semester academic Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Rolls. The honor rolls consist of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade-point average, and freshmen who have earned a 3.25 or better grade-point average. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.

All the seniors in Carbon County have now graduated. The Comet did not get a chance to attend many of the ceremonies because we were short-handed and they fell during times we were previously committed. Plus, Dana has been in Wisconsin for family matters for several weeks.

There is a tradition of field days in Carbon County School District No. 2. (CCSD2).

Hanna Elementary had a field day last week on May 21, that included all the elementary children from the north of CCSD2. It was an event the elementary kids look forward to every year.

Bow River FFA Selects New Officers

The Future Farmers of America (FFA) for Bow River had their banquet on May 13 with a full house at the Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School. 

Besides the food and ceremony, there were also items to be auctioned off which had been made by the Bow River Chapter.
