St. Barnabas Episcopal Church will sponsor a weeklong Navajo weaving workshop Aug. 25-29 at the Platte Valley Community Center, offering participants the chance to learn from master weaver Anita Hathale.

The Lion’s Club Pancake Breakfast, followed by the Carbon County Fair Parade on August 2 was the kickoff for the 2025 Fair, although there had been some horse competitions earlier in the week.

After the parade was the dog show, which was very well attended and had a lot of cute pups.

Khaos Returns to Carbon County Fairgrounds

Engines roared and metal collided as the Carbon County Fairgrounds once again hosted the Carbon County Khaos Demolition Derby Saturday night, delivering a high-octane spectacle that had fans on their feet. Spectators cheered as vehicles smashed and crashed in scenes reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic gladiator movie.

The day could not have been any more pleasant. It was warm, but not hot. There was a breeze that cooled down the temperature.

Sinclair Summer Going on 4th Year

Monte Thayer decided four summers ago that he wanted to have an Arts and Music Festival in the town of Sinclair. He could make it happen since he was the Parks and Recreation Director. The tradition he started is continuing.

King Coal Days Make a Comeback

There were concerns that last year would be the last time Hanna would be celebrating King Coal Days in 2025.

Thanks to Mayor Charlie George and the Town Council, the Hanna Parks and Recreation Board was reformed and the members took on as their most important task in getting King Coal Days going.

For those interested in connecting with local artists and agriculture, the University of Wyoming Extension has launched a series of self-guided Ag & Art tours.

The second 2025 Ag & Art tour will take place on Saturday, August 9, in Albany County. The third tour will occur in Laramie County on Saturday, August 23. Both events last from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
