Grand Encampment Cowboy Gathering Features Mountain Man art by R. G. Finney

For the first time in the 22-year history of the Grand Encampment Cowboy Gathering slated for July 19, 20 and 21 at Grand View Park in Encampment, the promotional artwork will feature the mountain man. During past years the theme has been cowboy and ranch, with last year an Indian painting.

This year, the Fourth of July celebration in Encampment was a spectacle unlike any other. Thanks to the dedicated fundraising efforts of the town and organizations like Mother Mountain Anglers (MMA), over $7,000 was raised, resulting in the largest fireworks display the town has ever seen.

Saratoga Days 2024 Rocks the Valley

The small town of Saratoga, population 1,700, transformed into a bustling hub of excitement and entertainment over the July 4th weekend, as thousands flocked to the annual Saratoga Days festival. Every hotel room was filled, and nearly all Airbnb rentals were booked, demonstrating the event’s popularity.

Sinclair Gets Ready for Birthday

Sinclair Parks and Recreation Director Monte Thayer put up the banner announcing the town’s birthday on Friday, June 28.

Although there is still a little time before the celebration, Thayer said he was excited about the event and said that it was going to be a lot of fun for attendees. After all, a town only turns 100 years old once.

It is currently number 10 on the New York Times bestsellers list. It is titled “First Frost.”

Saturday, May 4 was an excellent spring day in Carbon County. The organizers of Sinclair’s Easter Egg Hunt looked very smart to have waited until after Easter 2024. For those who may not remember, that weekend gave a challenge to several Easter Egg Hunts in Carbon County.

This day could not have been more beautiful with a comfortable temperature, blue skies and warm sun.

The Rustic Bar in Saratoga has a longstanding tradition of celebrating the Kentucky Derby in style. When the first Saturday in May rolls around each year, this lively bar is transformed into its own version of Churchill Downs race track. Patrons dress to impress in colorful sundresses and fancy, decorated hats better suited to the actual Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

Cinco de Mayo, the fifth of May, is a festive holiday commemorating Mexico’s unlikely victory over the mighty French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Although not as widely celebrated in Mexico as in the United States, it remains an important symbolic date honoring Mexican heritage and pride.
