The annual Governor’s Conference on Hospitality and Tourism started on February 25 in Cheyenne and lasted until February 27. The first day, was board meetings by tourism organizations and Legislative Reception where leaders from tourism met with elected officials in a social atmosphere.

When the Heart of Hanna opened a year ago on February 17, the store had already gone through a few transformations. It had initially sold collectables which Hanna resident Rose Dobbs found. She moved to another site and the place went to another person who also sold collectibles.

T-Tech Aggressive PC Repair has been in Rawlins since 2017 but was officially launched on September 12, 2023.

“We got this building in August,” Tannim Hallman, co-owner and software technician of the company said. “It was a hobby sort of business since 2017, but once we got this location, we got everything permitted and incorporated.”

The Bank of Commerce (BOC), a community bank based in Rawlins, opened a branch office in Saratoga with an official ribbon cutting on January 25 at 5:30 p.m.

“I have been sewing since I was in 4-H in Hot Springs County, where Thermopolis is,” Stormie Williams, owner and founder of Prairie Storm Quilt Shop said. “I have loved sewing since then and I am thankful for 4-H. It is a club great for all kids.”

The nine-year-old in 4-H also used to sit with her mother sewing.

Carbon County stores spread holiday cheer with gift giving opportunities for kids

There are two stores in Carbon County doing similar things to help kids get ready for the holidays.

In Saratoga, at Bridge Street Bargains on December 11, every kid that comes into the store will be given the opportunity to purchase one Christmas gift for someone they love for $1. Bridge Street Bargains is a place where many high-end items are donated from the community.

Asian cuisine in Carbon County

Considering there are 10 municipalities in Carbon County and 49 restaurants according to Discover Carbon County, Asian restaurants make up a very small percentage. There are three. Going back three months, there were only two, but with the advent of Chen’s Garden opening up, there are now three. All of them are in Rawlins.
