I had heard that LaVonne Tlustos was in the hospital last week and I knew she was a person I wanted to highlight as a living legend of Carbon County. I considered her a remarkable community leader who I had met when I first moved to Hanna some 20 years ago.

Recently, she celebrated her 90th birthday.
