Twila Mae (Cloyd) Hawbaker passed away June 22, 2025, at the age of 78 in Rawlins, Wyoming, surrounded by her family after a short battle with health issues.

   Twila was born October 21, 1946, in Hamburg, Iowa to parents Vernon Leroy “Jack” Cloyd and Ruby Mae (Keys) Cloyd.

November 3, 1943 – June 20, 2025

Ralph Jump went to his Heavenly Father on June 20, 2025, at the age of 81.

Ralph met the love of his life, Robin, when he began helping guide hunts for Saratoga Safari, a business owned by Robin’s uncle. Their bond was immediate, and together they built a life rooted in love, strength, and perseverance. They were blessed with six children—four sons and two daughters—who brought him great joy and pride.

In Loving Memory of Margaret Evelyn “Peg” Espy

December 22, 1934 – June 4, 2025

Margaret Evelyn Grieve Espy, known to all her dear friends as Peg, died on June 4th, 2025. Peg was born on December 22nd, 1934, and was a lifelong resident of Carbon County, living on the family ranch in Savery, Wy and later, the ranch in Rawlins. 

In Loving Memory of Nancy Vargas

Nancy Vargas passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on June 1, 2025. She was 73 years old. Born Nancy Lorayn Anderson on December 12, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Robert McClelland Anderson and Betty Louise (Sears), the family eventually moved to Independence Missouri where she graduated from Truman High School in 1970. Her family later relocated to Longmont, Colorado where she completed her Bachelors of Arts degree at the University of Northern Colorado in 1975.

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Jackie Starr who left us on January 10th, 2025 at the age of 47 in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Daniel Lindsey Kinnaaman

Daniel Lindsey Kinnaman, more commonly referred to as Dan, passed away on April 24, 2025, due to natural causes. Dan was a foundation of his family as husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was also a pillar of Wyoming and Rawlins as a businessman, historian, and civil servant.  

Eddie Joe Schinkel

Eddie Joe Schinkel was born March 10, 1955 in Laramie, Wyoming and passed April 7, 2025 in Laramie, Wyoming.

A celebration of life will be held on April 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge (403 West Buffalo Street) Rawlins, Wyoming.

We look forward to sharing memories with all of Eddie’s friends and family.

Janet Laubach

Funeral Services for Janet Laubach, 77, of Canton, SD, will be held at Canton United Methodist Church on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 6:00pm in Canton, SD.   A private family interment will take place at a later date.   Donations in Janet’s memory may be made to the Canton Volunteer Fire Department or the Canton United Methodist Church.

Angeline Marken Kinnaman

A life well lived!!  Angeline Marken Kinnaman, known to her many friends as Angie, passed from this life on December 25, 2024. Angie, a proud native of New Mexico, was born November 6, 1934, and had lived in Rawlins since 1961.

David McNett

David McNett, 71, of Medicine Bow, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2024. Dave is survived by his wife, Karen; brothers Steve (Melinda), Ed (Diane), and Grady (Karen); children Ened (Orion), Betty (Travis), Jason, Corie (Gregg); grandchildren Ozara, Tanner, Arjuna, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by loving parents George and Maxine.

Norma Jean Jennings

Norma Jean Jennings, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, at the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins, WY. 

Brandie JoEllen (Borrego) Beadle

Brandie JoEllen Beadle (Borrego), aged 47, passed away on March 17, 2024, in Fresno, California. Born on January 19, 1977, in Rawlins, Wyoming, she was a vibrant and outgoing individual who cherished her family and friends deeply.

Edward E. and Karen Alice Martinez

Edward and Karen Martinez will have a celebration of their lives on Saturday, July 27, 2024.  The memorial will begin at the Rawlins Cemetery to place their urns at 1 PM with a reception to follow at the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course restaurant from 2 until 4.  Friends and family are invited to share the many memories and experiences we all shared.

Ray Elias Ortiz

Ray Elias Ortiz was born to Ray and Molly Ortiz on August 7, 1955, in Rawlins, Wy.  He attended Pershing grade school, Rawlins junior high school and graduated from Rawlins High School. Growing up he played basketball on a team coached by our neighbor Max Archuleta. He also boxed as a youngster and was coached by Abe DeHerrera.  He loved to camp with family.  He loved eating and trying new foods.  He also became a very good cook. He loved to travel and loved  his aunts, uncles and cousins.
