Elk Mountain Pumpkin Patch

On Thursday, October 24, at the Elk Mountain Community Center, formerly the Elk Mountain Elementary School, the annual Pumpkin Patch and Pie Auction was held.

Given that the town has a population of 150 and the turnout looked to be about 200, the event was a success.

Platte Valley Helping Hands (PVHH) will continue to provide their Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner this year. The PVHH Board decided to eliminate their sit-down dinner gathering to protect those they serve from possible exposure to a variety of illnesses that spread during this time of year.

Baked ham with cranberry sauce tops the menu when folks next “Gather at the Table” for free food, fun and fellowship Monday evening, Nov. 4th, from 5:00 to 6:30 in the Saratoga Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Third and Bridge Streets.

Also on the menu is buttered rice and gravy, fried cabbage, pan dressing, sweet potato pie cake and a beverage

It was a showdown in Baggs on Friday, October 25, as 17 competitors brought their best chilies to the Community Center, all in the name of some good, clean fun and to raise funds for the Little Rascals Daycare. They came in three styles: red, white and green. With seasoning profiles from mild to wild.

Carbon County Food Truck Festival Sees Growth and Community Support in Second Year

Megan McComas and Casey Shinkle had their second annual food truck festival on Saturday, October 5, at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.

The event grew with more food trucks and vendors, but because of the strong wind conditions that closed traffic to high-profile vehicles, several vehicles did not make it that had signed up.
