Innocence is a quality of humanity. It infects most humans. Innocence is a virtue under most circumstances.
We rush or stumble through life with little awareness or concern for the effects of our passage. Innocence creates a buffer for our inevitable frictions with other humans. Innocence is good on the whole, rendering pervasive, innocuous offense, well, innocuous.
