The Encampment High School Tiger basketball team had a strong win on January 29 when they beat Rock River 68-35. It was good practice for the Tigers because they must face Little Snake River Valley on January 31 in a crucial conference game.
In the girls’ wrestling division of 115 pounds, Alaina McNees claimed first place at the Shane Shatto Memorial, earning praise from her coach, Ranelle Hindman.
“She did very well,” Hindman said. “Alaina might be going down to 110, but no matter, she is wrestling great.”
McNees, who has been steadily improving since she started wrestling, continues to see success on the mat.
The Encampment High School Lady Tiger basketball team had a good win against the Saratoga Lady Panthers on January 15. They won the game 41 to 29. The win puts them first in their conference. The next game they play is Cokeville on January 17.
The Saratoga Panther High School team took no prisoners at the Carbon County basketball tournament where they handily beat Burlington, HEM, St. Stephens and Dubois.
Burlington is the only team which came close with a score of 57-49.
At the Carbon County tournament in the Valley last week, the Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School girls basketball team went undefeated, but head coach Zack Scott was not really surprised.
He said before the game against Casper Christian, his team might surprise some people.
