By Tom Mensik and Kelia McCuddy

Carbon County Museum

At the Carbon County Museum, we recently pulled out two huge stained-glass windows that had been squirreled away in a corner for several years. While they were technically on display, our guests could not see them and enjoy them.  In our recent efforts to rearrange the museum, we decided to move these spectacular pieces to a more accessible location.

End of the season

By Nikki Devlin

Assistant Director, Little Snake River Museum

October 25, 2023, was the official last day of the museum’s season. It was a long season this year due to the nice long fall we had through October. It started getting cold at night, the winter showed us her hand for a couple of days, but good weather held long enough for the museum staff to get a few projects done.

Accessions, Saratoga Museum

A museum is a repository of a variety of histories, peoples, animals and the very Earth itself. Museums get all kinds of donations such as minerals, animal artifacts and tools. Some donations require special handling and sensitivity.

Human remains and grave goods are often displayed in museums but there are modern standards that need to be adhered to.
