The Medicine Bow Elementary kids had a 9/11 memorial lesson on the Ceremony of Final Tribute for an American flag and the etiquette required from the American Legion Post 64 and Auxiliary.

According to The National Flag Foundation, there are rules to follow for conducting a patriotic flag-burning ceremony which the young ones watched.

Representative Harriet Hagerman announced that the 2024 Congressional App Challenge is now accepting applications from middle and high school students. This prestigious competition invites students to showcase their coding skills and creativity, with winning apps featured on the U.S. House of Representatives’ website and displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

A lot of new hires will tell you they are happy to be in their new position and it might seem like lip service. 

Cynthia Porter, the new assistant principal at Rawlins Middle School, there is zero lip service, she is sincerely excited to be in the school.

Porter has been teaching for 16 years.

Ryan Searle is not new to Carbon County, but he is new to Carbon County School District No. 2 (CCSD2) taking on the job of Curriculum Director. Prior to this position, he was the principal at Rawlins Middle School.

Andrew Hays is the new tech person at Carbon County School District No. 2 (CCSD2). He grew up in Rawlins, graduating in 2000 and went to college in Powell on a music scholarship. He decided that music was not what he wanted to major in, so he went to the University of Wyoming and started to get into technology even though his major was psychology.

Taylor Reynolds

Hanna P.E. Teacher

Reynolds was born and raised in Laramie. She went to the University of Wyoming and has two degrees; one in Ag Business and the other in education. She started out being hired as a substitute teacher but an opening came up for a P.E. teacher and Reynolds found her job.
