Local voices filled the holiday spirit as the Encampment/Riverside Community Choir invited the public to their annual sing-along, “Here We Come A-Caroling,” on December 15 at the Grand Encampment Opera House.

Residents throughout Carbon County have been celebrating the holidays. Many of the towns have had parades. Baggs, Elk Mountain, Hanna, Rawlins, Saratoga and Sinclair all had parades that the townsfolk enjoyed.

Besides parades, there were craft shows in many communities that gave locals a chance to find unique Christmas gifts.

The streets of historic downtown Saratoga glowed with festive lights Saturday evening as the town came together for its annual Christmas Parade, followed by the Valley Service Organization’s “Winter Wonderland.”

The streets of Rawlins came alive with holiday cheer as dozens of floats rolled through town during this year’s Christmas parade, delighting families and friends with festive decorations, music, and joyful participants. The parade lasted approximately 12 minutes, featuring a mix of nonprofit, business, and family entries, each bringing their own touch of holiday magic.

Pianos Clash and Crowds Roar in Sinclair

On November 13 at the Parco/Sinclair Theater, there was a show that was entertaining and just fun to watch.

It was due to the two musicians who were appearing that evening.

There was a decent turnout and the theater had opened an hour before the show, with the Rifleman providing adult beverages and the concession stand had food for those attending.

Halloween Spirit Sweeps Carbon County

Starting on October 24, Halloween spirit began popping up across Carbon County as towns, schools, businesses and even municipal offices embraced the season.

In Medicine Bow, the Parks and Recreation Board hosted a Haunted House the Friday and Saturday before Halloween. Organizers put together a spooky walk-through that drew families looking for a seasonal scare.

Haunted Forest Draws Crowd in Sinclair

The Haunted Forest in Sinclair brought out a large crowd over Halloween weekend, with 546 people attending the evening event.

Families first enjoyed a carnival set up in and around the Parco Theater. Games and activities gave children a place to have fun before or after taking on the spooky attraction.

A cold drizzle couldn’t dampen Saratoga’s spirit during the annual Fall Festival on October 11, where the smell of chili, the sound of laughter, and the sight of cowboy hats filled the day with small-town warmth.

Sinclair Rec Hall Bustles With Latino Music and Dance Night

The Sinclair Recreation Hall came alive Saturday night, October 18, as the community gathered for a free Latino Music and Dance Night that had feet tapping and hips swaying.

Monte Thayer, director of the Sinclair Recreation Department, said he was thrilled with the turnout. “It’s great to see so many people enjoying music” Thayer said.
