“I think of myself as a person, person first and foremost,” Cheryl Munroe, the Grand Marshal for the Carbon County Fair and Rodeo said. “Teaching was not a job for me, it was a passion. I loved my students and I loved what I was teaching.”

Munroe said she taught her students life skills which they would take with them forever.

Wyoming artist’s winning designs make debut

On July 20, the Saratoga Hot Springs Resort and Spa showed off their new cans designed by artist Travis Peak, who won the contest put forth last year by the resort’s Snowy Mountain Brewery.

Encampment embraced its fur-trapping roots as Rendezvous arrived on July 22 and 23, where the sights and sounds of the 19th century came alive. From Buckskins to Prairie dresses, attendees immersed themselves in the era’s fashion and traditions, while artisans showcased their talents with impressive displays of craftsmanship.

Saratoga, July 22, 2023 - The Saratoga Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) celebrated a momentous milestone as they marked their 100th anniversary with a day of festivities, fond memories, and heartfelt gratitude. The community came together at the Platte Valley Community Center to honor the brave firefighters who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting the town of Saratoga.

The Hanna Agricultural Resource Team (HART) had its first community picnic of the summer this past Saturday at the park near the Hanna Miner Memorial Recreation Center.

With the summer in full swing, the residents of Carbon County are eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated annual event - the Carbon County Fair kicked off on Wednesday, July 12, and runs through Saturday, August 5. The fair promises to be a week filled with delicious food, exciting competitions, and a celebration of local talent and agriculture.

The What Fest event is making a comeback to its previous site. The organizers are happy to be returning as the attendees, at last, seemed pleased with the new location.
