A divided Encampment Town Council approved a fence request, learned of a cracked valve at the town’s sewer lagoon and reviewed progress on several infrastructure projects during its regular meeting Thursday, Oct. 8.

The council also discussed potential financial benefits from a proposed generating station, fifth-penny sales tax education and upcoming community activities.

From improvements to the town’s sewer lagoon and river access road to plans for new Christmas decorations, the Riverside Town Council had plenty of progress to discuss during its Thursday, Oct. 8, meeting.

Mayor Leroy Stephens presided over the meeting, with councilmembers Linda Brown, Lisa Lorenz and Ed Golden in attendance.

The Hanna Town Council met at 6:30 p.m. on October 13 at the Hanna Town Hall. All Councilmembers were in attendance, as was Mayor Charlie George.

The Carbon County Council of Governments asked the town to send out flyers on the 5th Penny Tax.

The meeting began on a positive note as county departments recognized employees for years of service.
