The Rawlins Town Council convened at 7:30 p.m. on October 17 at City Hall.

During the public session, Debbie Weickum, the wife of the mayor, informed the Council that the underground walking tunnel she and the mayor had painted had been successfully completed. The Council expressed gratitude to both her and the mayor for their dedicated efforts.

As part of a region-wide effort, the Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests are assisting in the recruitment of new members for the Greater Rocky Mountain Resource Advisory Committee (RAC).

The Medicine Bow Town Council met at 6:30 p.m. on October 9 at the Medicine Bow Community Center.

Mayor Bradley Buum, Councilmembers Justin George and Trevor Strauch were in attendance. Councilmember Sharon Kahl was absent. There is a vacant council seat.

The Hanna Town Council convened at 6:30 p.m. on October 10 at the Hanna Town Hall, with a remarkable turnout. Over 70 residents packed the meeting room, forcing nearly a dozen attendees to stand throughout the proceedings. Mayor Jon Ostling presided over the meeting, joined by Council members William Dys, Jayson Nordquist, Roger Hawks, and Sammy Sikes.

The Baggs Town Council convened on September 12, 2023, with Mayor Matt Howell presiding. Present at the meeting were Council Members Shan D. Ferguson and Mike McAllister, along with several employees and concerned citizens.

The Rawlins Town Council met on Tuesday and discussed what the town should do with the funds they will be getting from Wyoming Community Gas, the American Legion got their non-profit bingo permit, but the highlight of the meeting was honoring Kella McCuddy for her work with the community.

The Hanna Senior Center coordinated with the Carbon County Office of Emergency Management (CCOEM) to bring together first responders and residents on September 21 at 6 p.m. at the Hanna Miner Memorial Recreation Center.

The Hanna Senior Center provided a free chili dinner to the attendees before the meeting began.

The Encampment Town Council convened on Thursday, September 14, 2023, to address several crucial matters, including updates on South Central Wyoming Emergency Medical Services (SCWEMS) contracts, sewage treatment facility improvements, vehicular obstructions in public thoroughfares, and other significant developments.

In a significant development during their recent meeting, the Elk Mountain Town Council approved revisions to water and sewer rates, marking a pivotal change in the town’s utility billing structure. The decision, reached during the council’s regular session on September 11 at the Elk Mountain Town Hall, is set to go into effect on October 1, 2023.

Citizens of Hanna had serious concerns about an ordinance that was about to go through its 3rd reading. Ordinance 401, is an ordinance which was amending the town code for regulating nuisance violations. It also provides an avenue for the appointment of a code enforcement officer to enforce the nuisance regulations.
