The Rawlins High School swim team competed at the Gillette Invitational over the weekend, securing a 15th-place finish in a field stacked with talented swimmers from across the state. Several Outlaws swimmers posted strong performances in the meet’s timed finals.

Saratoga’s wrestling team had a good weekend according to head coach Rusty Arnold.

“Ron Thon 2025 was a tough one. It is one of the toughest tournaments in the country for high school wrestling,”Arnold said. “As a coach it is a tournament that I look forward to all year long, probably more than state.”

Arnold explained.

The Saratoga High School Panther wrestling team went to Lander on January 24-25. Their head coach Rusty Arnold was pleased with the results.

The Encampment High School Tiger basketball team had a strong win on January 29 when they beat Rock River 68-35. It was good practice for the Tigers because they must face Little Snake River Valley on January 31 in a crucial conference game.

HEM Wrestlers Hold Their Own Against 3A Opponents

In the Rawlins dual against Jackson Hole, the Outlaw swimmers won handily with a score of 96 to 53.

The top swims for Rawlins were:

50 yard freestyle

Logan Wells finishing 1st in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.92 

Corey Barnes finishing 2nd in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.05

In the girls’ wrestling division of 115 pounds, Alaina McNees claimed first place at the Shane Shatto Memorial, earning praise from her coach, Ranelle Hindman.

“She did very well,” Hindman said. “Alaina might be going down to 110, but no matter, she is wrestling great.”

McNees, who has been steadily improving since she started wrestling, continues to see success on the mat.

The Encampment High School Lady Tiger basketball team had a good win against the Saratoga Lady Panthers on January 15. They won the game 41 to 29. The win puts them first in their conference. The next game they play is Cokeville on January 17.
