Ranch to School Program Seeks Local Livestock Donations

Carbon County School District 2 Food Service is inviting area ranchers and livestock producers to take part in its Ranch to School initiative, “Donate a Beef, Feed Our Future.”

The district has been awarded a state processing grant for locally donated beef and is seeking donations of cows, bulls, steers or heifers to be used in school meals throughout the district.

Part of its popularity is the teacher Jennifer Bowen, who takes great pride in her students and what they accomplish in the school year. Some of her students are working hard to get to Nationals.

The principal, Eli Hobbs, of HEM is grateful not only for getting it done, but also for the help from businesses, organizations and individuals that have come together to make it possible to be what it has become, to house animals in the future.

The University of Wyoming lists 30 students from Carbon County on the 2025 fall semester academic Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Rolls.

The honor rolls consist of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade-point average, and freshmen who have earned a 3.25 or better grade-point average.

The Provost’s Honor Roll consists of undergraduates who have completed at least six but fewer than 12 hours with a minimum 3.5 grade-point average for the semester.

The President’s Honor Roll consists of regularly enrolled undergraduates who earned a 4.0 (“A”) grade-point average for the semester. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.
