James “Jim” Laurence Penland, 68, passed away on Sunday, October 18th after a brief battle with lymphoma. Jim was born in Rawlins, Wyoming, on November 6, 1957, to Harold and Elizabeth Penland. He graduated from Rawlins High School in 1976 and quickly became enamored with the family business at Rasmusson Furniture. It was at Rasmusson’s that Jim’s life of service to his community began, and his dedication was only strengthened when he took over the store in 1993 with his wife Mary.
