The Hanna Town Council met at 6:30 p.m. on December 10 at the Hanna Town Hall.  All council members were present but Mayor Jayson Nordquist was not present. Pro-tem mayor Sammy Sikes ran the meeting.

Staff for U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming will hold remote office hours in Rawlins on Thursday, December 19th, 2024. Field Representative Lindy Linn will be available to meet with residents and hear ideas, comments and concerns about what is happening in the U.S. Senate, and to help anyone having trouble working with a federal agency.

The Saratoga Town Council held its regular meeting on Dec. 3, 2024, at Town Hall, with Mayor Chuck Davis calling the meeting to order at 6 p.m. Council members Cooley, Beck, and Barkhurst were present, while Councilman Jerry Fluty was absent. The meeting addressed a wide range of topics, with several motions receiving unanimous approval.

The Rawlins City Council met on December 3 at the Rawlins City Hall. After approving the agenda and the regularly scheduled meeting minutes for November 19. 

Next the council listened to candidates for board positions. After the candidates spoke the Council voted.

Stephanie Kramer was reappointed to the DDA Board.

Carbon County Sheriff’s Office

On Thursday, November 21st, 2024, deputies with the Carbon County Sheriffs Office performed a traffic stop in the city of Rawlins.

Investigating deputies, along with a Wyoming Highway Patrol K9 Unit, discovered felony amounts of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl during the stop.  

The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Carbon County Jail.

On Veterans Day, Sharon Heward, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) was delivering cookies to vets. The members of the Order of the Eastern Star are dedicated men and women who sincerely reflect the spirit of fraternal love and the desire to work together for good by giving their time to meaningful projects that benefit mankind. Heward was doing what members do.
