Moon Venus and Regulus Align in Rare Predawn Spectacle

Early risers were treated to one of the year’s most dazzling naked-eye sights on Friday, September 19, when the crescent moon, the planet Venus and the star Regulus clustered tightly together on the east-northeast horizon before sunrise.
