Sometimes friendship pops up when least expected. Last week, when honoring Veterans Day, one of those friendships came to light.

Retired veteran Josh Welch met retired veteran Mike Lujan, owner of Mike’s Big City Steakhouse, at an exercise by the military to keep the nation operating in case of heavy military strikes on USA’s airfields.

The Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School was the scene for honoring veterans on November 11 with a breakfast and tribute to all those who served in the military. The event was the 14th National Honor Society’s (NHS) Annual Celebration at HEM.

St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Saratoga celebrated the retirement of Fr. Bruce Clapham and the installation of its new pastor, Fr. Linh Vu, on Saturday, November 1, with a Mass, followed by a dinner hosted by parishioners of St. Ann’s.
